In fondo al mar è una delle canzoni più belle del film La sirenetta, della Walt Disney, e le mamme non possono non conoscerla, visto che alcune avranno visto il film da bambine (è uscito nel 1989), ma chi ha scritto questa canzone? E qual’è la sua traduzione in inglese?
La canzone ed il suo successo
Il brano musicale di questa canzone è stato composto da Alan Menken e scritto da Howard Ashman, nel 1989, stesso anno di uscita del film. La versione originale, Under the sea, è stata cantata da Samuel E. Wright, la sua versione italian, invece, da Ronny Grant, che ha dato la voce al granchio Sebastian.
Questo pezzo, cantato dal piccolo granchio insieme ad altri pesci, per far capire alla sirenetta Ariel quanto sia bella la vita in fondo all’oceano (con pochi risultati), ha avuto un gran successo, tanto che nel 1990 ha vinto un Premio Oscar ed un Golden Globen, per la “Miglior canzone“. L’anno successivo, vinse un Grammy Award.

Sostanzialmente, il testo dice pressoché le stesse cose, e sia in inglese, che in italiano, è diventata un simbolo, per più di una generazione di bambini.
